Gina + Tyson {Two Hearts in San Francisco}

Gina and Tyson hail from Los Angeles but somewhere along the line, they left their hearts in San Francisco, as many of us NorCal lovers do. And what better place to tie the knot than San Francisco City Hall. Tall and majestic with architecture not easily found elsewhere, San Francisco City Hall definitely ranks in the top 10 list of best places in the city to get married.

Keeping in line with the couple's love of SF, we used the city's landscape as the setting for our bride and groom portrait shots- pausing in the middle of the street for a quick shot and capturing the newlyweds in front of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. The wedding reception followed at another one of San Francisco's hot spots, the Westin St. Francis.

Here's to Gina and Tyson- wishing you many happy years of wedded bliss!

Margot + Charles {Memories are Sweet}

I always consider what I do a blessing. I'm blessed to be a part of other people's best moments in life. It's a privilege to capture moments for people that become memories forever. Every year that passes, this feeling for me gets stronger and stronger. When one of my friends, family members or clients passes on from this world, I realize even more that my role in life is to use my talent to give people memories through photographs. Life constantly reaffirms for me that I'm doing exactly what I'm meant to do. In the case of Margot and Charles' wedding, I knew going into it that the bride's mother was dying of cancer. I feel honored that Margot and Charles chose me to document their wedding day, the smiling, the laughing, the joy and tears. Images serve as proof that life happens, time passes and memories are sweet.

We asked Margot what memories from the wedding were the most important to her. Here's what she shared:

"Charles and I both feel the ceremony, particularly reading our vows to each other was a standout. The song I wrote and played for Charles was a very special moment for him as well, he said. My mother died about a month after our wedding and the memories and photos we have of her dancing, smiling and laughing are so precious to us. She arranged to gather all of the women close to me before the wedding to do a blessing which was very powerful for me, and the photos of this are some of my favorites. Charles' groomsmen did a similar gathering, and coincidentally circled around him in the same way my mom arranged for me. I love that we have similar photos of both of these moments. We have so many favorite moments but these are the standouts."

Kelly & Matt :: Wedding in the Woods at Nestldown

Kelly and Matt were married at the nestled-in-the-woods property at Nestldown. I love this couple because they were so adventurous to ask me to shoot their engagement session while standup paddleboarding. Obviously, I jumped at the chance. And I also love their wedding venue choice. There's so much fun "stuff" (for lack of a better word) to shoot at Nestldown. And the wedding vendors gave me eye candy to capture too. Thank you Kelly and Matt for letting us be a part of your special day.

Deb & John Tie the Knot in San Francisco

Finally... a new blog entry! Sorry for the long delay in posting. Let's kick it off right with a classy affair at the Bently Reserve, a San Francisco landmark. Here is Deb and John's wedding which blends traditional Indian ceremonies with a western-style reception. And you'll even get to see the couple's adorable French Bulldog Billy. He looks dapper in his tuxedo, don't you think? Clearly I have a soft-spot for Frenchies!

Special thanks to all the wedding vendors... and Hayley Durack for shooting with me!
