Margot + Charles {Memories are Sweet}

I always consider what I do a blessing. I'm blessed to be a part of other people's best moments in life. It's a privilege to capture moments for people that become memories forever. Every year that passes, this feeling for me gets stronger and stronger. When one of my friends, family members or clients passes on from this world, I realize even more that my role in life is to use my talent to give people memories through photographs. Life constantly reaffirms for me that I'm doing exactly what I'm meant to do. In the case of Margot and Charles' wedding, I knew going into it that the bride's mother was dying of cancer. I feel honored that Margot and Charles chose me to document their wedding day, the smiling, the laughing, the joy and tears. Images serve as proof that life happens, time passes and memories are sweet.

We asked Margot what memories from the wedding were the most important to her. Here's what she shared:

"Charles and I both feel the ceremony, particularly reading our vows to each other was a standout. The song I wrote and played for Charles was a very special moment for him as well, he said. My mother died about a month after our wedding and the memories and photos we have of her dancing, smiling and laughing are so precious to us. She arranged to gather all of the women close to me before the wedding to do a blessing which was very powerful for me, and the photos of this are some of my favorites. Charles' groomsmen did a similar gathering, and coincidentally circled around him in the same way my mom arranged for me. I love that we have similar photos of both of these moments. We have so many favorite moments but these are the standouts."
